SPEEDINK: A Game That Runs Beyond Web3 Silos

3 min readMay 22, 2025

The Ink Awakens

In the shadows of a torch-lit dungeon, something moves. It sprints through collapsing platforms and spike-filled corridors, leaving only splashes of ink in its wake. One mistake, and it’s over. But each restart is faster. Sharper. Somewhere in the distance, a golden glow waits to be earned.

This is SPEEDINK a roguelike speedrunner designed for Web3, but accessible to everyone. WebGL-only, no installs. Play it directly from your browser on mobile or desktop.

It’s precision meets progression. Obsession meets ownership. A place where every lap matters, and every time you beat becomes an on-chain moment.

Why Most Web3 Games Miss the Mark

Web3 has promised decentralization, openness, and collaboration. But in practice, most games are boxed into single-token ecosystems, one-chain deployments, and closed communities. The result? Silos. Fragmented audiences. Broken reward systems. Games built for extraction, not expression.

SPEEDINK exists to break that.

Why SPEEDINK Exists

SPEEDINK is a fast-paced, weekly-reset platformer where every second counts. It’s fun and brutal, but beneath the surface it’s a modular protocol for cross-chain engagement.

Any token project can integrate. Host their own leaderboard. Deploy their own reward pool. Turn their community into competitors.

No permission needed. No chain loyalty required.

How It Works

Every week, a new map is released. Players race for the fastest possible time.

After each run, players can either buy a perk to improve their next run, or save their lap time as an on-chain NFT using a limited Saving Slot. Only one slot is available by default, but up to five can be unlocked. The saved time becomes a permanent part of the leaderboard.

At the end of each week, rankings are locked. Crypto rewards are distributed. And the next map begins.

Perks, LootBags, and Real Progression

SPEEDINK is not about grinding. It’s about building a run.

Perks are the core of that progression. They’re stored in a soulbound NFT called the LootBag (non-transferable) player-bound, and earned through play.

From double jumps and dash invincibility to time freezes and acceleration chains, perks let each runner shape their playstyle. Perks are cumulative and can be stacked to create powerful builds and strategies.

Golden Ink: Skill-Based Currency

Golden Ink is the in-game chip token. It’s earned by playing, and optionally purchasable with compatible cryptocurrencies.

Golden Ink is not a tradable token. It has no speculative market. It is strictly used to buy loot chests containing new perks. This makes progression meaningful and resistant to farming abuse … you earn what you play for.

Open to All Token Communities

SPEEDINK is also a tool.

Any token project can integrate their branding, deploy community-specific leaderboards, contribute to custom reward pools, and host the game on their own site.

It can even be used for airdrops but not the usual kind. In SPEEDINK, airdrops are earned through performance, not by holding tokens in an idle wallet. Real players. Real effort. Real distribution.

Let’s see how fast you can run.
